When a bride walks up for her wedding vows, she never expected to hear this voice from the dead

He's been dead for over a year, but yet he somehow made it to her wedding.

  • July 22 was to be the greatest day of Brittany Adkins life. She was going to marry the love of her life, Jordan Yost, and have a wedding that their photographer described as, "an absolute dream."

  • But the surprise that greeted the bride during the ceremony made it even more unforgettable.

  • From the time she was little, Brittany had dreamed her grandpa - a reverend -would officiate her wedding. However, after he died in April of 2016, this became a dream that couldn't happen.

  • Or so she thought.

  • As she bowed her head to pray during the ceremony, her grandpa, Pawpaw Ronald, started speaking.

  • "I immediately recognized his voice and started sobbing," Brittany told HuffPost. "Different emotions were racing through my head while trying to soak in hearing my grandpa's voice. I was weak to my knees, chilled, but despite all the tears, I was smiling inside."

  • Her brother, sister and Jordan had pulled audio from Brittany's sister's wedding in 2015 which Pawpaw Reynolds officiated.

  • According to HuffPost, He prayed for them, pronounced them husband and wife and announced to the groom he could kiss the bride.

  • "Having him pray over our wedding was the most memorable moment and one I will cherish forever," Brittany told ABC News. "All the dreams I had as a little girl came true."

  • Because of Brittany's close relationship with her grandpa, Jordan had gotten to know Pawpaw before he passed over a year ago, and the moment was emotional for him too.

  • "When she broke down, I tried everything that I could to support her and embrace her by grasping onto her arms," he told ABC News. "The emotion was very intense. We both cried like babies, as well as everyone in attendance."

  • Even their photographer, Sarah Irvin who snapped a photo that has since gone viral, said she was crying.

  • "I was crying so hard I had to go back and look at the photos immediately to make sure they weren't blurry from me moving so much. I have never seen anything like this" Irvin told ABC News.

  • On her Facebook post, Sarah described the moment.

  • "I've photographed a lot of weddings & this was the most incredible moment I've ever had the honor to witness."
